ABSTRACT

Although a metastatic or recurrent soft tissue sarcoma is less sensitive to cytotoxic chemotherapeutic agents, the standard therapy for this disease is systemic chemotherapy. A 66-year-old man showed multiple metastases after resection of leiomyosarcoma of the left limb (pT1bN0M0G1, stage IA). Among them was endobronchial metastasis, which caused left atelectasis and obstructive pneumonia. We experienced a rare case of metastatic leiomyosarcoma showing favorable response to combination chemotherapy with doxorubicin and ifosfamide, which allows for effective endobronchial management.
