ABSTRACT

A 75-year-old man and a 64-year-old man were administered with corticosteroids for irradiation pneumonia after irradiation therapy for recurrent non-small cell lung cancer. Their infiltrate shadow then progressed rapidly. Invasive pulmonary aspergillosis was diagnosed and treated with antifungal agents. In such cases, immunosuppressive therapy may lead to life-threatening exacerbation of systemic fungal infection. We need to consider the possibility of Aspergillus infection in subjects with underlying lung disease.
