ABSTRACT

A 19-year-old man visited our hospital due to an abnormal chest shadow detected on routine health check. Chest X ray showed a tumor shadow in the left lower lung field and chest contrast-enhanced computed tomography revealed a tumor shadow of approximately 9cm in the left thorax, although contrast enhancement was poor. The tumor showed high intensity on both T1- and T2-weighted chest magnetic resonance images. His previous chest X rays showed that the tumor had progressed within 3 years and thus the tumor was resected by thoracoscopic surgery. Pathological examination confirmed the tumor was an intrathoracic chest wall lipoma.
