A 69-year-old male patient underwent resection of malignant schwannoma of the anterior mediastinum at a local clinic two years ago. Left upper lobectomy was performed for left S4 adenocarcinoma of the lung at Seirei Respiratory Disease center a year later. He had a coin lesion in right S3 on chest X-ray film a year after operation. Metastatic lung cancer was suspected and subsequently tumor resection was performed. The pathological diagnosis was metastatic lung tumor of malignant schwannoma. Among 227 cases of surgically resected lung cancer at our hospital from 1987 through 1992, there were 22 cases of double primary cancer. However, ling cancer accompanied by malignant mediastinal tumor was seen only in the present case.
