Background: Pulmonary epithelioid hemagioendothelioma is a rare tumor of the lung deriving from vascular endothelial cells. Case: A 37-year-old woman presenting with bloodysputum had bilateral multiple small nodular opacities on her chest X-ray films. As pathological findings of specimens resected by video assisted thoracoscopic surgery revealed atypical epithelioid cells which had vacuoles in the cytoplasm and stained for FactorVIII related antigen and vimentin, a diagnosis of pulmonary epithelioid hemangioendothelioma was made. Abdominal CT scan revealed a space-occupying lesion in the liver that was suspected to be histologically identical. She has been followed without any treatment. Surgical resection is recommended in cases of a solitary lesion. Generally, the prognosis is poor in inoperable cases because the mean survival time is about 5 years. Conclusion: We report a case of pulmonary epithelioid hemangioendothelioma.
