Background. Spontaneous remission of lung cancer is extremely rare and there are few documented cases. Case. We report a 60-year-old man with lung cancer in the right upper lobe and pulmonary tuberculosis. CT scan confirmed the presence of lesions in the liver, highly suggestive of liver metastasis. Although he received treatment with anti-tuberculosis drugs without cancer chemotherapy, his primary tumor and liver metastasis resolved. The CEA level in serum was elevated (88 ng/ml) at the time of admission and declined to the normal range three months later. He has been free of tumor for 7 years. Conclusion. We report this case because spontaneous remission of lung cancer in a patient with pulmonary tuberculosis is very rare.
