Abstract |
Eleven years have passed since the Japanese Society for Clinical Microbiology's Guidelines for the Examination of Enteric Infections were published in 2010. During this time, microbiological testing methods have advanced rapidly with the introduction of mass spectrometry and genetic testing methods. This time, the first edition was reviewed and the second edition was published in 2021. This review describes the history of the Guidelines for Laboratory Methods for Enteric Infections from the publication of the first edition to the revision of the second edition and the key points of the revision. |
