Abstract |
We report a rare case of Fusarium solani necrotizing fasciitis. The patient was 72-years-old woman with myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS). She got hurt on the leg in a rice field and was taken to our Miyoshi Central Hospital. Laboratory data revealed a decreased white blood cell count (800 mm3). The organisms isolated from culture of pus were fungus similar to Aspergillus. The isolated strain was finally identified as Fusarium solani by nucleotide sequencing analysis of rRNA. The MIC value of this strain against AMPH-B, VRCZ, and FLCZ were 0.25, 1, and more 64 μg/ml by antibiotic susceptibility testing. |
