Abstract |
Nucleic acid amplification (NAA)-test is important tool for diagnosing Mycobacterium tuberculosis complex (MTB). We investigated new NAA-test using the Procedure for Ultra Rapid Extraction (PURE)-Loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) method. This study was used only sputum and compared smear-test, culture-test, identification-test and other NAA-test. The LAMP method and other NAA-test exhibited a sensitivity of 84%.There are showed the same result on 159 specimens from a total of 161 sputum specimens. A sensitivity of smear-positivity and smear negative were 100% and 73% together with the LAMP method and other NAA-test. Amplification inhibition of the LAMP method was not considered from positive control, negative control and culture-test result. From the above, it was considered that the LAMP method was equivalent to the conventional NAA-test. |
