Abstract |
There is a growing body of studies using complex network analysis (graph theoretical analysis) in neuroscience and neuropsychology. This analysis enables researchers to describe the structures and functions of the human brain in terms of 'networks', in addition to cerebral localization and inter-regional connectivity which have been essential theories in these research fields. In this paper, I review the basics of graph theoretical analysis and typical network properties computed by analysis in relation to noninvasive neuroimaging-based data. I also review several studies applying this analysis to structural and functional data measured by noninvasive neuroimaging techniques, including magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), functional MRI (fMRI), magnetoencephalography (MEG), and electroencephalography (EEG). |
