Abstract |
Some researchers are interested in the relationship between beauty and neuropsychology, but the topic is still less investigated compared with neuropsychology of cognition or neuropsychology of moral behavior. To stimulate the field which is now called neuro-aesthetics, the author attempts to propose the concept of "neuropsychology of beauty", from the contemplation what beauty is. Art, sensibility, and creativity are the three major keywords which we often associate with beauty almost unconsciously. After intentionally removing these common attributes of beauty, we will realize that beauty includes, for instance, that of everyday life as well as that of nature. By conceptualizing beauty in a broader sense, the author will discuss the scope and reach of the "neuropsychology of beauty". |
