| Abstract |
Elementary speech/language symptoms and their causative lesions, diagnostic methods according to PPA criteria (Gorto-Tempini et al. 2011) are described with todays' topics on naPPA. Topics are followings: 1. Those who show only apraxia of speech are called PPAOS (primary progressive apraxia of speech), 2. Those who show agrammatic speech tend to show frontal symptoms similar to vbFTD, 3. Regarding pathological findings, naPPA includes 4R or 3R tauopathy or TDP-43 proteinopathy, although there is no enough consensus as to relation between speech/language symptoms and pathological findings, 4. Some reports shows there is a group developing progressive anterior operculum syndrome with speech impainment and dysphagia, with TDP-43 proteinopathy and is speculated to belong to the same spectrum as ALS. |
