Abstract |
This section summarizes the basic neuropathology that neuropsychologists need to know. The most frequently encountered diseases are cerebrovascular diseases, dementia with neurodegeneration, and head trauma. The author provides an overview of the gross findings of cerebrovascular diseases, the pathology of Alzheimer's disease and dementia with Lewy bodies as well as frontotemporal lobar degeneration. In addition the basic knowledges of head trauma will be provided. It is important to understand and be familiar with neuropathology for daily clinical practice of neuropsychologists. |
