| Abstract |
A form of thought using abstract "concept" would characterize higher cognitive brain function unique to hominids. The concept of the "self-body" which might have emerged and further extended through the tool-use behavior should comprise a precursor of such a mental function during the course of the primate evolutionary process. Inspired with such an idea, we have conducted a series of experiments to challenge neurobiological mechanisms of human intelligence, which I would like to describe here by following our own previous findings. And finally, I would like to depict a future perspective of the studies as a direct extension of such thoughts. |
