Abstract |
Biological bases of delusions of schizophrenia have yet to be revealed. Several explanatory hypotheses of delusions have been proposed. Some regard delusions as disturbances of perceptions, while others regard them as impairments of reasoning in the context of normal perceptions.
Among the abnormal perception hypotheses, some researchers highlight anomalous experiences, others emphasize affective processes. Experimental evidences for each of the hypotheses are overviewed. |
