Abstract Patients with epileptic amnesia display the various symptoms known as long-term anterograde amnesia or retrograde amnesia, as well as a memory defect during an epileptic attack. It is sometimes mistakenly diagnosed of dementia in senior cases. It is important for understanding to the clinical feature of the epileptic amnesia well and to utilize the electroencephalography by daily medical examination.
