Abstract |
We report a 69-year-old right-handed woman who showed impaired abstract attitude. Magnetic resonance images revealed a subcortical hemorrhage in the posterior-inferior area of the left temporal lobe. During the recovery phase, she presented with the following: (1) impairment of auditory pointing, category classification, and naming for colors that are similar in nature, and (2) obsessiveness with individuality during auditory pointing for real furniture. Both findings are analogous to the impairment of abstract attitude reported by Goldstein (1948) and Yamadori et al (1973). Therefore, we conclude that a common disturbance exists between our case and previous reports. |
