| Abstract | We report a corrected right-handed woman who showed paragrammatism caused by damage to the right cerebral hemisphere. In speech production, she showed minimal naming disturbances. She frequently misused but never omitted postpositional particles during spontaneous or thematic speech. In the sentence of her speech, she did neither produce word in wrong order nor simplify syntax. In speech comprehension, she often misunderstood simple sentences in daily conversations, although her comprehension of word meaning was intact. The grammatical disturbances in the current patient may be different from previously reported agrammatics with anomalous lateralization, because the current patient showed only morphological disturbance, while both syntactic and morphological disturbances were found in previous patients. The unique anomalous lateralization may cause her paragrammatism. |
