Abstract In the present study, first, I present two cases with medial frontal and/or corpus callosum area lesions, showing inappropriate actions of a unilateral hand apart from its own volition (one is a case of compulsive manipulation of tools, the other is a case of diagonistic apraxia). Through their symptoms, I pointed out the problems concerning with similarities and continuities among the symptoms with medial frontal and/or corpus callosum area lesions, i.e., motor neglect, intermittent motor initiation difficulty, compulsive manipulation of tools, and diagonistic apraxia. Next, I present a case, showing strong difficulties of all the actions other than object tool use. Judging from the MRI findings, I speculated the causative lesion of this symptom would be located in the medial parieto-occipital and/or corpus callosum area lesion. Finally, I discussed the roles of medial frontal cortex and parieto-occipital cortex for praxis.
Keywords motor neglect, intermittent initiation difficulty, diagonistic apraxia, compulsive manipulation of tools, medial cortex
