Abstract |
We administered factor analyses of the Cambridge Prospective Memory Test (CAMPROMPT) performances in 242 healthy subjects and 76 subjects with brain damage according to the scores of remembering to remember and those of remembering the contents. In the healthy group, two factors were detected. Factor 1 was interpreted as prospective memory with time/implicit cue, and factor 2 was interpreted as prospective memory with explicit cue. Both factors reflected vigilance of sustained attention. In the clinical group, three factors were detected. Factor 1 was interpreted as prospective memory with non-structured cue, factor 2 was interpreted as memory of the remembering the content, and factor 3 was prospective memory with structured cue. Validity of the factors differed along with retrieval modalities and characteristics of the cue and reflected deficits in vigilance of sustained attention and/or memory and executive function. |
