Abstract |
Eating disorders (ED) are characterized by body image disturbance, fixed beliefs about being overweight and abnormal behavior including diet restriction. ED are classified into two groups: Anorexia nervosa (AN) and bulimia nervosa (BN), although some cases move between those stages. To manage treatment plans of ED patients is always with difficulties due to many physical complications, especially associated with refeeding syndrome. Moreover, ED patients' specific cognitive functions and thoughts make treatments more difficult. In this paper, we review characteristics of neurocognitive functions of ED and how we can assess those functions thorough neuropsychological examinations. |
