Abstract |
We examined behavioral disorders observed in three cases diagnosed as corticobasal degeneration (CBD) clinically. In case 1, both parapraxis and clumsiness were observed in the bilateral hands, which suggest the coexistence of ideomotor apraxia and limb-kinetic apraxia. In case 2, specific involuntary movement of the right foot was observed. The right foot suspected in the air temporally before returning to the ground while walking. In case 3, prominent apraxia in gesturing of using daily objects and involuntary movement of the tongue (elevation during protrusion) were observed. In the original report about CBD by Rebeiz et al (1968), there are similar descriptions to these specific behavioral disorders mentioned above. We thought that the descriptions in the original report are useful on the clinical diagnosis of the CBD. |
