Abstract About the brain plasticity of communication function, the recent functional imaging studies and the strictly controlled clinical studies confirmed that the adult brain has no plasticity but child brain has. It is also demonstrated that the critical period of plasticity is beyond 9 years. However, from the view point of individual differences, the argument about the scope of critical period could mean little. The mechanisms how the plasticity will be varied should be studied. For such arguments, the sensory deprivation approach is promising.
