Abstract Until now, we have focused on exercise for improvement of cognitive functions and compensation for deficits. However, in order to improve the daily life of the person who has some higher cortical brain functional disorders, improvement of self-awareness of deficits is very important for appropriate compensation. Therefore we have incorporated some programs for self-awareness improvement into our higher cortical brain functional disorder programs. In this study, I introduce the theory of our programs, some methods of exercise and some forms of exercise. I believe evidence based on research will be important in the next step of our cognitive rehabilitation programs.
Keywords cognitive rehabilitation, higher cortical brain functional disorder, self-awareness, psychological approach, exercise for cognitive disorder
